Belief Statement
The Fellowship of Christian Faith is rooted in the historic Christian faith. While we are not aligned to a single denomination, we stand within the shared beliefs that have shaped the Church throughout the centuries. Our desire is to remain faithful to Scripture, centred on Christ, and united in the truth of the gospel.
The Triune God
We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are distinct, yet perfectly united in essence, purpose, and glory.
God is eternal, infinite, omnipresent, and unchanging. He is holy, just, loving, gracious, merciful, and good. All things exist by His will and for His glory.
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, who reigns over all creation with wisdom and authority. He is the source of life, the sustainer of all things, and the one who calls His people into relationship with Himself.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man.
Jesus lived a sinless life, and through His death on the cross, He bore the sins of humanity. Through His sacrifice, forgiveness and reconciliation with God are made possible. He rose from the dead and reigns as Lord, calling all people to follow Him in faith and obedience.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is fully God and active in the world today.
The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, leads people to Christ, and dwells within believers. He guides, strengthens, and transforms us, helping us to understand Scripture, grow in holiness, and live faithfully. Through the Spirit, believers are empowered to live lives that reflect the character of Christ.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the written Word of God.
Scripture is divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit and is the ultimate authority for truth, faith, and life. Through the Bible, God reveals His character, His purposes, and His will for humanity. It is to be read, trusted, and applied as the foundation for Christian living.
The Call to Love
We believe that love is central to the Christian life, as taught by Jesus Christ.
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… and you shall love your neighbour as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37–39)
This love is not merely emotion, but the self-giving, sacrificial love that comes from God. It is patient, faithful, and enduring (1 Corinthians 13). True Christian faith is expressed through this love — both in devotion to God and in the way we live toward others.
Community and Service
We believe that the Christian faith is not lived in isolation, but in community and active service to others.
As followers of Christ, we are called to love not only in word, but in action — caring for those in need, supporting one another, and seeking the good of our communities. Faith is expressed through compassion, generosity, and a willingness to serve.
The Church is described as one body (1 Corinthians 12), where each person has a role to play in building up others. We are therefore committed to encouraging fellowship, unity, and mutual support among believers.
We also believe in serving beyond the Church, reflecting the love of Christ in the wider world. This includes helping those who are vulnerable, offering practical support, and living as faithful witnesses through both word and deed.
In all things, our desire is to reflect Christ — who came not to be served, but to serve (Mark 10:45).
Worship and Praise
We believe that worship is an essential expression of the Christian life.
God is to be worshipped in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). Worship is not limited to words or music, but is the offering of our whole lives to God in reverence, gratitude, and obedience. Through sincere worship, we honour God and acknowledge His presence, majesty, and holiness.
Prayer
We believe that prayer is a vital and ongoing relationship with God.
Through prayer, we come into God’s presence, bringing before Him our needs and the needs of others. Prayer includes adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication, and intercession.
We are called to seek God faithfully in prayer, trusting Him to guide, provide, and act according to His will (1 Timothy 2:1–4). Prayer is not only speaking to God, but also listening — a continual, living relationship shaped by His Word and Spirit.
A life of prayer strengthens our faith, aligns us with God’s purposes, and deepens our dependence on Him.
A Life of Faith
We believe that the Christian life is a life of ongoing transformation.
Through faith in Christ, believers are called to grow in obedience, holiness, and devotion to God. This is not achieved through human effort alone, but through the work of the Holy Spirit, as we remain rooted in Scripture and committed to following Jesus.
The Fellowship of Christian Faith exists to uphold these truths and to encourage lives that are grounded in God’s Word, shaped by His love, and lived in faithful devotion to Him.
